Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Memories of the Alhambra), a composition by the guitarist Francisco Tarrega, is another work that conjures up cherished moments of my childhood[VM11] . Our house was filled with the sounds of my father's classical guitar, which he played with great passion and discipline, and thus music entered my life at a tender age. This work in particular was one of my father's favourites, and I heard it countless times as a child. In his arrangement, the French harpist Sylvain Blassel provides a good imitation of the tremolo in the original guitar version, in which each note of the top part is doubled. The work itself is extremely demanding for a harpist: mastering the technique required to produce repeated notes takes years of practice.

Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Souvenirs de Alhambra), œuvre composée par le guitariste Francisco Tarrega, résonne tendrement dans les échos de mon enfance. C’est grâce à mon père, qui a toujours pratiqué la guitare classique avec beaucoup de passion et de rigueur, que la musique est entrée dans ma vie à un jeune âge. J’ai entendu cette pièce résonner dans la maison familiale des centaines de fois. Le harpiste français Sylvain Blassel en a fait un arrangement qui imite bien l’effet de trémolo réalisé dans la version originale pour guitare, où chaque note de la partie supérieure est dédoublée. La pièce est en soi un exercice poussé pour les notes répétées à la harpe; une technique qui demande plusieurs années de pratique avant d’arriver à la maîtriser.
